Designed for anyone who requires basic life support knowledge and skills necessary to manage sports emergencies safely, promptly and effectively prior to the arrival of professional help.
The course content will also address some common sports injuries, which have the potential to develop, if left untreated, into long-term problems and further absence from the sport. The course comprises both theoretical and practical training to develop competence in the following areas: Course Content: - General Principles of Sports Injuries
- Disorders of the airway and breathing - Resuscitation (CPR)
- The Unconscious causality - Airway Management - Recovery Position
- Bleeding
- Dealing with Shock
Course Duration Course Material - All delegates receive a comprehensive course book at the start of the course.
Assessment - Assessments will be conducted on a continual basis throughout the course using first aid sports injury and medical emergency scenarios..
Certification - Successful delegates receive a certificate of competency valid for three years.
